Party Tricks From The Penguin

Looking to get creative for your child’s birthday party this year? Dry ice is the perfect accessory to incorporate into several popular party themes. Whether you’re creating a winter wonderland with Elsa or mixing potions with Harry Potter, The Penguin has you covered!

Elsa’s Winter Wonderland

As one of the most successful movies of all time, it’s no surprise that Disney’s “Frozen” has become a popular theme for parties. Now you can create a winter wonderland just like Elsa with Penguin Brand™ Dry Ice! Place baseball-sized chunks of dry ice in buckets of water around your house. This will create a snow-like effect across the floor. For tips on how to create long-lasting fog effects, consult our Safe Uses and Handling Guide.

Harry Potter’s Potions Party

Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’s Potion Class – step inside Professor Snape’s dungeons to learn how to brew potions just like Harry! What you’ll need:
  • A large plastic or metal cauldron
  • A  plastic or metal container small enough to fit inside the cauldron
  • 1 – 2 gallons of hot water
  • 2 – 3 pounds of Penguin Brand™ Dry Ice
  • Gloves
  • Hammer/ice pick
  • Towel
Instructions: Fill the container with hot water and place inside the cauldron. While wearing gloves, wrap the dry ice in a towel and use the hammer or ice pick to break the dry ice into baseball-sized chunks. Place the dry ice into the water-filled container and watch what happens! Add drops of food coloring to create your own unique potion.
